Daiquiri Cocktails
The recipe of daiquiri cocktails was originally created in Santiago, Cuba around 1905 for a group of American mining engineers working in the "Daiquiri mine". The Daiquiry Cocktail was one of Hemingway's favourites. The Cocktails Daiquiri became popular in the 1940s. The sweetness of strawberries and the kick of lime make this classic daiquiri a real crowd pleaser of a cocktail.

Cocktails Daiquiri
- 2 oz White Rum
- ½ oz Fresh Lime Juice
- ¼ oz Simple Syrup
- 6 Fresh Strawberries

Strawberry Daiquiri
- 1 oz light rum
- 1/2 oz strawberry schnapps
- 1 oz lime juice
- 1 tsp powdered sugar
- 1 oz strawberries
Strawberry daiquiri recipes: add ingredients with a bit of ice in a blender. Blend and then strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with strawberry.

Strawberry Daiquiri
- 35ml white rum
- 25ml oz lime juice
- 2 tsp white sugar
- 1 tbsp strawberry liqueur
- 4 fresh strawberries, plus half strawberry to garnish
Strawberry daiquiri recipe: place the strawberries, sugar, rum, strawberry liqueur and lime juice into the base of a cocktail shaker and mash (muddle) with the end of a clean rolling pin. Place the lid onto the cocktail shaker and shake well. Strain the mixture into a martini glass and garnish with half a strawberry. No cooking required.

Strawberry Daiquiri
- 2 parts white rum
- 1/2 part crème de fraises
- 1/2 part lemon juice
- ice, crushed
- 4 strawberries
Pour the rum, crème de fraises, lemon juice, strawberries and ice into a blender and process at slow speed for 5 seconds, then at high speed for 20 seconds. Pour into a chilled glass.

Daiquiri strawberry recipe: muddle strawberries in a cocktail shaker, add the rum, lime and simple syrup and stir to extract as much of the strawberry juice as possible. Pack the cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Fine strain the Cocktails Daiquiri into a sugar rimmed martini glass and garnish with a lime wedge or strawberry.
Originally the drink was served in a tall glass packed with cracked ice. A teaspoon of sugar was poured over the ice and the juice of one or two limes was squeezed over the sugar. Two or three ounces of rum completed the mixture. The glass was then frosted by stirring with a long-handled spoon.
The classic, lime only, Daiquri has been supplanted by the strawberry version, which is the "de facto" cocktail you get when you order a Daiquiri at a bar. In Cuba they call it a Fresca Daiquiri.
Daiquiri Cocktail Ingredients
White rum or light rum, silver rum, is a dry light-bodied rum, light in color and lightly sweet in flavor. It is produced from sugarcane.
Havana Club is a brand of rum, established in Santa Cruz del Norte, Cuba, 1878. Since 1994 Havana Club has been produced 50:50 by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government. Havana Club sold by Bacardi in the U.S. is unrelated to the Cuban version.
Daiquiri is a simple cocktail made with white rum, lime, sugar, so to make a strawberry version just add about six small strawberries.
Strawberry is full of vitamin C and antioxidants, add strawberries to Daiquiri coctails to give them a more vibrant taste and texture.
Lime juice is valued for the acidity and the floral aroma to accent the flavors of drinks. Limes are a good source of vitamin C.
